As a Volunteer Tutor, you are able to make use of a number of resources provided by the Volunteer Tutor Project:

A range of Teaching ESOL materials at different levels is available in the Glasgow ESOL Forum office. These are accessible to volunteer tutors at any time subject to prior arrangement with the Volunteer Tutor Co-ordinator, who will be available for advice during your appointment. Tutors may make photocopies free of charge and borrow some type of materials. A current list of holdings can be downloaded.

There is an egroup for Volunteer Tutors which any Volunteer ESOL Tutor in Glasgow can join. It facilitates communication between tutors and you can get lesson ideas from it, ask questions and much more. You will need to subscribe to the egroup. Once subscribed, you can post to the group by sending an email to vtglasgow@yahoogroups.com.

Regular workshops will give Volunteer Tutors an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and ideas, and to learn more about asylum, teaching and any other aspect relevant to their work.

A newsletter is distributed on a quarterly basis to all Volunteer Tutors to keep them informed about the project and other news relevant to them.

In the links section, Volunteer Tutors can find useful links for teaching, asylum and reference.

If you are a Volunteer Tutor and would like to share your teaching materials and ideas, please send them to the VT-Co-ordinator and they will be made available for download in the materials section.

As a Volunteer Tutor, you will need to access questionnaires for monitoring and evaluation. You can find a list of these questionnaires and download them here.
